Md Shah Jalal

Jalal did his Ph.D. at Howard University focusing on deciphering the function of theDrosophila transcriptional co-activator, Spargel, during ovarian and larval development. His research demonstrated that Spargel is maternally required for proper eggshell patterning and chorion biogenesis. Additionally, he extended my research in a new direction by finding Spargel involvement in endocycle, an alternative cell cycle program critical for Drosophila larval growth.
